Description

Social, economic and political challenges of the modern world form a new type of international relations in the area of education and science. At the same time, increasing international competition on the world market of educational services strengthens processes of integration and increases the need for joint educational, scientific and research projects.

Development of unified scientific and educational space by enhancing partnerships requires constant communications, coordination of interests and search for the new forms of collaboration.

Program

Within current agenda, we plan to discuss three main aspects of international cooperation among HEIs:

  • constructive and negative experience and operational support of university consortiums,
  • internationalization of higher education,
  • funding of international academic mobility.

Cooperation of HEIs allows consolidation of its members’ efforts providing higher quality of education and research. The last 50 years generated vast experience implementing international cooperation in science and education. Within the framework of panel debate, it is planned to discuss experience of partner universities from different countries, French-Russian University, Collège Universitaire Français, European University Institute, Academic Alliance of Russian and Spanish Universities as well as organizations funding student mobility.

To ensure international cooperation the national education systems are required to conduct significant work in the area of internationalization of higher education.

This includes harmonization of grading systems and recognition of diplomas and qualifications, as well as implementation of Bologna Process principles, followed by removal of legislation barriers for international cooperation, and increase of capabilities for cross-borders education. Improvement of existing and development of new joint scientific and educational products should be put into action based on international regional and global goals such as the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Education 2030 Agenda.

Topics of internationalization and development of international education will be revealed in reports of International Association of Universities and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Funding of academic mobility is integral tool for promotion of higher education internationalization.

Potential of international collaboration in this area will be discussed by funding organizations in the following topics:

  • development of complimentary student mobility programs in the framework of existing educational programs and scientific researches;
  • digitalization and consolidation of information for existing grants and scholarships;
  • unification of documents packs and transfer to digital platforms «call for papers».
